Christian Benteke is awaiting a scan to discover the full extent of the hamstring problem, which forced him off in Sunday's draw against Norwich.

The Liverpool striker was replaced by Danny Ings at half-time in the Premier League fixture, as the Reds went on to draw 1-1. Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed after the game that the substitution wasn't for tactical reaosns, but due to the Belgian having a hamstring problem.

Which games could Benteke miss?

He'll now have a scan to reveal how long he could be out for, and whether he'll miss Saturday's league game against former club Aston Villa, who Liverpool bought him from in the transfer window.

Following on from that, if the injury is worse than first thought, he could miss next week's Europa League game against FC Sion, and then potentially the derby game at home to Everton.

If he was unavailable for the derby game, he'd almost certainly be ruled out of the international break, as it was on Belgium duty where he nearly first suffered the problem.

Coming off for club colleague Divock Origi in the 1-0 away win against Cyprus, Benteke was deemed fit enough to play, and score in the 3-1 loss to Manchester United - a week before suffering the problem against the Canaries.

Who comes in for the powerhouse?

Replacement Ings came off the bench to score the opener in the Norwich game, and would be likely to start ahead of Benteke in any games that the injured player would miss.

Daniel Sturridge, back from his own injury problems, would partner Ings if Rodgers keeps up with the 3-4-1-2 formation employed on Sunday, however he's unlikely to take part in Wednesday's Capital One Cup game against Carlisle United, a game that Benteke will certainly miss.
