Liverpool FC are adamant that they have no worries about losing Philippe Coutinho this season after fears over his future amidst Jürgen Klopp's appointment as a new manager.

The Brazilian international has been linked with Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona across the last week, though the rumours have taken little significance with Klopp's high-profile arrival.

But the talented Coutinho, who swept the club's awards at the end of last season after a terrific personal campaign, is central to the heart of the Reds' future - with the Merseyside club having no intentions whatsoever to sell their star asset.

The 23-year-old, who has been one of the club's stand-out players since an £8.5 million switch from Inter Milan in January 2013, who said he wants "to do well" for Liverpool despite Barcelona forward, and his compatriot and friend, Neymar urging his club to approach the attacking midfielder.

Coutinho - who penned a new long-term contract with the club back in February, keeping him at Anfield until 2020, is happy at the club according to his agent despite fellow Brazilian David Luiz suggesting that a lack of Champions League football could trigger a change of attitude.

The £50 million centre-back said Coutinho "made the choice" to stay at the club through this season, but suggested he won't make it again should the Reds fail to qualify for Europe's elite competition.

Luiz hinted that Coutinho could be "the most in demand player in Europe" this coming summer, given his rapid rise in stock over the past few months.

He added that "already" Barcelona are interested in his services, but said to expect "more clubs than that" and declared that "any club" would want a player like Coutinho.

But the player's agent, Kia Joorabchian, has stated that Coutinho remains completely content at the club.

The London-based agent said that Coutinho is "extremely happy" on Merseyside after signing a long-term contract earlier in the year, which he said "represents his ambition and his feeling" for Liverpool.

He dismissed reports suggesting he has spoken to other clubs about Coutinho as untrue and insisted his aspirations are "to qualify for the Champions League with Liverpool this season and to win a trophy."

Joorabchian insisted that it is all his client "is focused on" and "nothing else" - having played in all but one of the Reds' first eight Premier League games of the season, which he missed through suspension.

Coutinho is currently suffering from a groin injury which he picked up in a 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend and forced him to drop out of the Brazilian international squad this week. It is not yet known whether he will be fit enough for Klopp's first game as manager away at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 17 October.
