Adam Lallana has expressed his excitement at having the chance to play under Jürgen Klopp, after becoming one of the first Liverpool players to speak publicly following the German's appointment as manager.

Following Brendan Rodgers being relieved of his duties after the 1-1 draw with Everton last week, the Merseyside club acted quickly to replace him, signing Klopp up within days of sacking Rodgers.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has had a huge amount of success in the game, and it's this success which makes him such an attractive manager to work under.

Klopp's first press conference impressed Lallana

Speaking from inside the England camp, as he's currently on international duty, Lallana revealed that he and some of his Liverpool teammates had watched Klopp's first press conference together, and were impressed with what they saw.

Telling the media that he was "very excited" to work under the new manager, Lallana praised Klopp for coming across "very well" in his presser, labelling it a "very good press conference".

Admitting that it was a "disappointment" to see Rodgers go following what Lallana described as an "indifferent start" to the season, he looked to the future by saying once he's back on L4, he'll be focusing on getting the three points against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

He's hoping to kick on under the German

Following his £25million move from Southampton last summer, Lallana struggled to replicate the form that saw the Reds invest such a sum of money in him, due to an injury plagued season.

He's started with more promise this time around, netting twice in competitive action so far, both goals coming in the Europa League, against Bordeaux and Sion respectively.

"It's a big season for me," said the midfielder, who is under pressure to perform at arguably the prime of his career at the age of 27. Following returning from injury, he's starting to find form once again, and he admitted himself that he must "keep fit" in order to show the fans what he can do.
