Scott Dann's late header saw Liverpool collapse to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at Anfield, their first defeat under Jürgen Klopp.

The Reds didn't make a strong start to the game, and fell behind to a Yannick Bolasie strike after 20 minutes, only to be brought back level by Philippe Coutinho minutes before half-time. They'd go on to dominate the second 45, and miss a host of chances, only for Dann head home with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

Palace make a quicker start to the game

Palace have become something of a bogey side for the Reds in recent years, and it was them who started the better, piling on pressure at they attacked the Kop end.

Liverpool didn't look comfortable in defence, in an early spell where shots were few and far between, with neither side registering an effort on target in the first 15 minutes.

One of them was clinical when it mattered though, and that was Crystal Palace as Bolasie gave them the lead with 21 minutes on the clock. Emre Can was at fault, as the German midfielder failed to clear a loose ball in the area, allowing Bolasie to spin on the penalty spot and lash a powerful left-footed effort into the corner, giving Simon Mignolet no chance.

Similarly to when they went behind against Chelsea last week, the Reds were looking for a quick response, and looked more of a threat straight away. Coutinho had an effort blocked from range, before Christian Benteke headed a good chance over the bar following an excellent cross from Nathaniel Clyne.

Sakho forced off with injury before Coutinho makes it 1-1

The momentum was broken slightly as Mamadou Sakho was forced off with an injury, which came as a blow for the home side. Going down clutching his knee, the Frenchman recieved extensive treatment before attempting to carry on, but he didn't quite have enough to go on as Dejan Lovren entered the fray.

However disappointed the home crowd were at seeing their star centre back go off, their mood was lifted a few minutes later, as Philippe Coutinho curled in an equaliser. Clyne's ball across the box was flicked by Adam Lallana, straight into the path of Coutinho who opened his body up beautifully to stroke a first time effort into the bottom right hand corner.

Equalising with just a few minutes left before the interval gave Liverpool real momentum going into the second half. That proved true as they created most of the chances, but saw most of them missed by Christian Benteke.

Benteke misses a host of a chances

Heading one over from a Jordon Ibe corner wasn't met with much grief as it wasn't the easiest of chances, but failing to hit the target from Moreno's cross inside the six yard box was inexcusable.

Those chances were sandwiched by a golden opportunity for the visitors to re-take the lead, as Pape Souare squared to Bakary Sako on the counter-attack, only for the winger to hit the side netting with his finish.

Dann the man makes it 2-1

That miss didn't matter too much for Palace though, as they bagged the winner with less than 10 minutes on the clock. Liverpool were still heavily on top, and had thrown on Roberto Firmino in place of Emre Can in an attempt to win the game, but Palace rode their luck and it paid off handsomely.

Continuing with their inability to defend set pieces, the Reds allowed Scott Dann to rise highest from a corner, have his first header saved by Simon Mignolet, before nodding in the rebound. The bitterest of blows dealt to Liverpool by a reknowned supporter of the club.

Divock Origi was rushed on as the home side tried desperately get back level, and Coutinho almost did, forcing Hennessey into an excellent save with an audacious attempt from outside the area.

That was the closest they came in the dying minutes, as Palace hung on to once again take points off Liverpool, their third straight win over the Reds in the league.
