Jordon Ibe is the latest player to be struck down having been ruled out of the FA Cup third round tie at Exeter City as the Merseyside club have become ravaged by injury.

The young winger missed training at Melwood on Thursday complaining of a hamstring problem leaving manager Jurgen Klopp with yet another selection headache.

Ibe proving an important player for Liverpool

Ibe featured against Stoke City on Tuesday in the League Cup Semi-final scoring the only goal of the game as Liverpool held on to a one nil win, the forward replaced the now currenly injured Phillipe Coutinho who also picked up a suspected hamstring injury in the 18th minute.

With important matches lying in wait for Liverpool, it could not have happened at a worse time for the attacker who was presented with a promising platform to become a key member of the Liverpool starting 11. With crucial players such as Daniel Sturridge, Coutinho, Danny Ings and Jordan Henderson all injured it could have granted a perfect opportunity for young Ibe to showcase his talents and prove his worth.

Liverpool are yet to rule Jordan Ibe out of the upcoming premier league clashes against Arsenal and Manchester United as a full assesment is yet to be carried out but expected to miss the fixtures are Mamadou Sakho (Knee), Phillipe Coutinho (Hamstring), Dejan Lovren (Hamstring), Martin Skrtel (Hamstring). Henderson and Sturridge could feature providing their fitness is not an issue as Klopp cannot afford more players out for extended periods of time.

Sam Allardyce Criticises Jurgen Klopp's methods

The Injury to Ibe follows comments made by Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce who criticised Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's training methods as a direct result for the injuries. Allardyce spoke to Talksport and suggested the German has not understood the "ferocity" of the Premier League. He continued saying the "work rate" of the Liverpool players causes them to be more "susceptible to muscle strains".

With a current total of 13 players out injured it may be possible that the experienced Big Sam may be offering a warning rather than a misguided jab at the current issues facing Liverpool.
