Liverpool midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza is set for a medical ahead of another spell out on loan, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Brazilian teenager, who joined last summer, is close to sealing a switch to see out the rest of the season in Belgium with Sint-Truiden, having been on loan at Finnish outfit Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho until October.

His successful stint in Finland saw him help SJK to clinch the title as he made eight first-team appearances, scoring two goals and claiming five assists - including a superb strike on his debut.

Allan to spend remainder of campaign in Belgium

Now, the 18-year-old is set to join 11th-placed Jupiler Pro League club Sint-Truiden in order to gain more vital experience - having hailed his earlier loan this season as a "very important experience" after admitting he had "never played a game at professional level" beforehand.

The fourth Brazilian on the Reds' books, Allan has previously spoken about the positive impact his compatriots Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have had on him since his arrival on Merseyside - whilst the transition of his switch to Belgium will also be eased by the presence of two fellow South Americans.

19-year-old Joao Rodriguez, a Colombian, and 20-year-old Chilean Christian Cuevas are both there on temporary deals from Chelsea - having previously played against Allan at Under-17 level.

Promising teenager hopeful of first-team place

Liverpool supporters have yet to get a glimpse of the midfielder, who won't be eligible to play for them until work permit goes through, which is expected to be in the summer.

But Allan has spent the past few months training with the Reds' first-team and getting to grips with his new teammates, having also played in a number of behind-closed-doors friendlies.

Upon returning from his loan at Sint-Truiden, where goalkeeper Simon Mignolet started his career, Allan is expected to compete for a place in Klopp's squad with the manager having been impressed with him in training.

The midfielder himself recently revealed that a loan was being chalked up and vowed to return to England in the summer of 2016 "even more ready and eager to play for Liverpool."

Despite being a relative unknown, coaches at Melwood are believed to have high hopes for the player, who was signed for around £500,000 after impressing scouts in the Frenz International Cup in Indonesia last January as the captain of winners Internacional.
