Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be making a mental-note of which players he will be planning to keep this summer as he will be preparing for his first full season in charge at Anfield

The German is known for being a demanding manager and after just one season at Borrussia Dortmund he cleared out a whole host of players as he looked created a team in his image. Klopp has inherited a squad with many players not pulling their weight or dealing with other problems giving him major issues to work out.

With players injured, running out of contracts or just simply not performing well, which players are likely to be moved on for pastures new this summer?

Contracts Expring

Liverpool currently have a total of five players set to come to the end of their contracts in the summer including one loan player, with the contracts running out rapifly, Klopp may want to act fast if he wants to keep any of these players.

Jose Enrique: The outcast of Anfield has mostly been seen on social media rather than on the football pitch, the Spaniard has only featured in one game this season as his future looks to have already been decided. The left-back started at centre-back in the FA Cup 3rd round against Exeter City and was a shadow of his former self, despite having the most appearances of any Liverpool player on the day, he failed to perform well and it is almost certain his contract will run its course. The player was frozen out under Brendan Rodgers featuring only nine times in his last full season in charge and his situation has not changed under Klopp as Alberto Moreno and youngster Brad Smith sit ahead of him in the pecking order.

Jordan Rossiter: The 18-year-old mifielder is a product of the clubs youth system and has been on a verge of a breakthrough since his debut in 2014 as former manager Brendan Rodgers was a huge admirer. A hamstring injury has kept the youngster out since mid December leaving him with a huge task to break into the team and prove he is deserving of a new contract. A former Liverpool Under-21's captain, many including Robbie Fowler have compared the Merseyside born player to icon Steven Gerrard but if the club is planning on Rossiter having the same longevity as Gerrard they may want to speed up contract negotiations as Champions League clubs from England and abroad are rumoured to be sniffing around the player.

Kolo Toure: The world's most lovable Ivorian has presented manager Klopp with a real headache as his performances of recent have opened the door to a real possibility of a contract extension. Toure has been at Anfield for three years and was one of Rodgers first signings upon taking over - signing on a free from Manchester City. It seemed likely that Toure's case would be a simple cut and dry one with his age but after stepping up the plate he may have done enough in his previous games to be rewarded with a possible one-year deal. The player turns 35 in march but the Reds have only lost one match this season that he has featured in, meaning the lucky charm may be kept on as vital experience next season.

Joao Carlos Teixeria: The attacking- midfielder has offered very little for his discussion of a new contract to be taken seriously, despite the promise of a very bright future he has failed to deliver anything and is way of a first team breakthrough. A product of Sporting Lisbon's youth system, many expected big things but with the player now 23-years-old any 'potential' that existed should be already there yet he has been reduced to minimal appearances lastly appearing as an extra in the FA Cup fixture against Exeter. Despite suffering a horrific leg break that halted his progress, the Portugese did impress while on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion but with little chance of making the grade at Anfield he will most likely move to a Championship side or a club abroad.

Jon Flanagan: A fan favourite on Merseyside the player was once looked to as the new Jamie Carragher with his feisty challenges and impressive performances at left-back, however an injury nighmare over the past two seasons has set the player back massively. Klopp announced at a recent press conference that the 23-year-old is in contention for the Exeter replay but any performances he can grab will have to emulate his 2013/14 season as he became a mainstay in the side that finished second to Manchester City. With the player now returning from injury and a host of Under-21 matches under his belt, his contract situation will most likely be resolved providing he can impress his manager in the run up to the end of the season.

Steven Caulker: The on-loan Queens Park Rangers defender was signed in the midst of an injury crisis at the club and his Premier League experience should have been seen as vital at a time when the club were without key defenders. Caulker has been reduced to two appearances, both as subsitute against Arsenal and Manchester United, the 24-year-old is stll young and has played at a host of clubs such as Cardiff City, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. His contract is set to last until the end of the season (six months) and will most likely return to his parent club QPR with Liverpool having reportedly 'agreed a deal in principle with Joel Matip' to sign in the summer.

Injury Issues

There seems to have been a dreadful curse placed on some Liverpool players over the past couple of seasons with certain players majorly restricted to nominal appearances that have affected their presence at the club and will could potentially give Klopp an easy excuse to show them the door.

Daniel Sturridge: Starting with the most injury prone player at the club seems to be most logical as the striker has become plagued with an incredible number of injuries since signing from Chelsea in 2013. The Englishman has been picked up nine wounds since signing for the club missing over 75 matches and with the player being one of the most important players in recent seasons it has been a huge blow for Klopp and former manager Rodgers. The 26-year-old has been recently linked with a move away with a price tag of £25 million set, despite his contract not running out until 2019 it would not be unthinkable for the former Man City player to be moved on as a player as unreliable as him cannot be good business, with many players such as Gerrard and Dietmar Hamann claiming the injuries a part of his read with forward only playing when he feels 100%.

Danny Ings: Another English striker suffering heartbreaking injuries, the forward suffered an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury that effectively ruled him out for the rest of the season. The striker was expected to be a big part of Klopp's plans as the hard-working 23-year-old was likened to other players that thrived at Dortmund under the German. Ings will be given at least one season to prove himself to his manager as he only signed for the club this summer and was in-form scoring Liverpool's last goal under Rodger's reign.

Joe Gomez: A £6 million signing from Charlton Athletic in the summer the youngster impressed and was one of the club's best performing players in the early fixtures, as Liverpool kept three consecutive clean sheets. Just like Ings - Gomez suffered the same ACL injury grinding his progress to an immediate halt. Gomez was improving with every game besides a blip against rivals Manchester United but the 18-year-old will surely be an Anfield player for seasons to come.

Players that are just destined to leave

Some players are just not destined to play for certain clubs, Fernando Torres was never a great fit at Chelsea, neither was Andriy Shevchenko but aside from Liverpool's London rivals, the reds themselves have invested in players that are just never going to fit in for one reason or another.

Adam Bogdan: A free signing from Bolton Wanderers in the summer, Bogdan was never going to be a first choice but his signing essentially assured that Simon Mignolet would remain first choice, despite calls for a complete replacement. The Hungarian has been a complete disaster since signing, costing Liverpool in both games he has featured - failing to stay in control of the ball - Watford handed the newly promoted side the first goal and his side struggled to recover - against Exeter, Lee Holmes scored directly from a corner as the ball flew over Bogdan as he complained in vain of a slight obstruction from one of their strikers. Simply put the 28-year-old is never going to make it at Anfield, and with young keeper Danny Ward now recalled from his loan spell at Aberdeen and Mignolet signing a new long term deal Bogdan's short stay at the club will likely end come the summer as Klopp.

Adam Lallana: The £25 million signing from Southampton has never truly got going with the Reds, a brief run of form was the best it got for the Englishman who often fails to inspire in big games.  The 27-year-old was one of the players that Rodgers hoped would lead Liverpool in the coming years, however with just two goals in 28 appearances this season he is clearly not the player to carry the club to greater things and with Klopp known to  ship major players on Lallana could be one of the major casualties this coming summer.

Christian Benteke: The writing is on the wall for the Belgian despite adding a level of danger to the Liverpool attack when he is on the pitch he has done little to show why the club splashed out £32.5 million on the forward. With Sturridge injured, Benteke was looked at to be main men for the Reds however with just seven goals from 25 appearances it is likely the striker will be moved on as Klopp has opted to play with fellow big money signing Roberto Firmino up top. The former Aston Villla striker was always a threat to the reds scoring five goals in six games in the three seasons at Villa, he was always the star striker at Villa Park but since coming to Anfield he has failed to live up to the hype and his last start against Exeter saw him presented with the honour of captain to which he was the arguably the worst player on the pitch prompting many to criticise him, fans would not be surprised to see the forward sold in the summer at a cut price in order for Klopp to fund his revolution.

Jerome Sinclair: Liverpool's youngest ever debutant Jerome Sinclair is also set to leave the club with Jurgen Klopp recently lamenting the player for his desire to earn wages above his worth. Sinclair scored his first senior goal for Liverpool against Exeter in the FA Cup but has never rarely been presented with a route to breaking into the first team prompting the 19-year-old to leave Anfield at the end of the season. Premier League side Watford are rumoured to be favourites for the players signature in what could a be a major coup for a young athlete with bags of potential.
