Adam Lallana insisted that his late match-winner in Liverpool's incredible 5-4 Barclays Premier League win at Norwich City on Saturday is a moment which he will "never forget."

Having already provided the assist for Roberto Firmino's second goal of the game, which brought the Reds level at 3-3 having been 3-1 down just nine minutes earlier, it seemed that Sebastien Bassong's 92nd-minute equaliser would give the Canaries a share of the spoils.

But after a fortuitous ball bounced into Lallana's path in the 94th-minute, the attacking midfielder thrashed a volleyed effort into the ground which bounced up into the top corner to send Jürgen Klopp sprinting towards him in ecstasy down the touchline

Speaking in the immediate aftermath of the pulsating win at Carrow Road, Lallana told the Liverpool Echo that it was "one of those great moments" and added that he "didn't connect with the ball brilliantly" but that, "as soon as it bounced, I knew it was in and I was off."

Describing his passionate celebration with Klopp, Lallana joked that his momentum took him "in the direction of the manager" and that when he "looked up, he was halfway on the pitch!"

The England international also laughed that he "heard his [Klopp's] glasses got broken" and said "that probably serves him right for being on the pitch!"

The midfielder's goal was his first in 20 Premier League games and his first in the top-flight this season, and he admitted that not scoring had been playing on his mind "a little bit" because "that's the kind of character" he is and he "always wants to help the team."

But he declared that it was "worth the wait", having not found the back of the net since last May, and said "those celebrations" and "being able to get the three points" ensured it was "one of those moments" that he will "never forget."

Klopp told reporters in the build-up that Lallana had been a doubt for the trip to Norfolk, having sustained a slight muscle injury against Manchester United a week ago which interrupted his training routine.

And the Reds' No.20 reserved plenty of praise for the club's medical staff for helping to be available for the game.

He revealed that he "could easily have been back at Melwood getting treatment" and preparing for Tuesday night's Capital One Cup semi-final second-leg fixture against Stoke City.

Lallana said that he "only trained with the squad on Friday" and had spent the build-up to the game throughout the week "getting treatment" - insisting that the medical team are "first class" and deserve great credit, saying: "They pushed me to travel, turned me around got me available."

He added that he was then "thankfully" able to come off the bench and be "involved in a couple of the goals", insisting that the medical team "could have just said rest it now and be ready for Tuesday" but said that it's "definitely worth taking risks at times" and that it "paid off" against Norwich.

When asked about the game prior to his late winner, Lallana called it a "sucker punch" for Bassong to score what he called a "brilliant goal" to make it 4-4, and told how he "asked the ref how long was left" and knew that there was just "one minute left" after having "played four minutes of stoppage-time" by then.

He said that they "went straight down the other end" and that the ball "dropped nicely" for him in order to win the game for the visitors.

Lallana called it "a great finale" and declared that it was "an epic game" as Liverpool went 1-0 ahead, before trailing 3-1 and clawing it back to 4-3, eventually winning 5-4 in a memorable encounter.

He also said that it was "great to be involved in" and even more so "when you come out of it with three points", hailing the Liverpool squad's "real never-say-die spirit" which he said Klopp has "instilled" into them since arriving.

After the final whistle brought an end to an enthralling afternoon, the Liverpool squad headed over to the 2,600-strong away contingent to show their appreciation.

Lallana, on the support of the travelling Kop, insisted that it was "great to celebrate with the fans at the end" and praised how they were "brilliant" for the players again.

He explained how Klopp "said a few weeks ago after he arrived about ensuring that fans didn't leave games early" and staying in the game late enough to keep them in the game, saying that they'll "be glad they stayed to the end' at Norwich because the game "was a cracker."

He said now, Liverpool will "need to recover" and "get ready" for the trip to Stoke which he called "a massive game."
