Liverpool Ladies show no signs in slowing with their off-season transfer business, as they brought in Shanice van de Sanden on Thursday.

The Dutch attacker joins from FC Twente, having previously played for Utrecht and Heerenveen.

Potential starting to shine through

The 23-year-old has been in prolific scoring form so far this season, having netted eight times in 12 Eredivisie Vrouwen games.

By far her best scoring run, van de Sanden is averaging a goal more than every other game this campaign.

She has been a part of the Dutch national side since she was just 15 - and the potential is starting to come to fruition.

After 154 games in the Netherlands, where she scored 44 goals, van de Sanden is heading to the WSL 1 to try her luck.

Van de Sanden has her say

A 21-time international for her country, the striker admitted she was "delighted to join Liverpool Ladies" and is "really looking forward" to working with her new team

Speaking to Liverpool's official website, van de Sanden believes it is a "great move" and that she "cannot wait to play in the FA Women’s Super League".

Liverpool's newest recruit thinks the league is "amongst the best in Europe", before adding that she is "really exciting" to be coming up against "such top quality players".

Busy off-season for Liverpool

This looks set to be a season of transition for the Reds. They have been busy from the get-go, in order to avoid a repeat performance of last year's disappointing showing.

Emma Lundh, Sophie Ingle, Mandy van den Berg, Alex Greenwood, Natasha Harding, Caroline Weir, Siobhan Chamberlain and Laura Coombes joined the club.

However, there has been a huge amount of departures. Fara Williams, Lucy StaniforthKatrin Omarsdottir, Becky Easton and Natasha Dowie have all left Liverpool.

There could be another major loss in the form of Asisat Oshoala, who looks set to join Arsenal. Despite the host of players leaving, this looks to be the beginning of a new era.
