Empoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has dropped a hint about a potential move to Liverpool, speaking openly about the Reds after transfer rumours linked him with a move to L4.

Central midfielder Zielinski, who is set to star for Poland at the European Championship's this summer, is subject to reported interest from Liverpool as Jürgen Klopp enters his first summer transfer window at Anfield.

Klopp has already signed Marko Grujic, who will join up following the conclusion of the Serbian season, as he attempts to turn Liverpool into a Champions League side. Zielinski signing would further strengthen the central midfield position, and would probably lead to one or two sales - Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva both touted to possibly leave the club.

More than rumours, says Zielinski

Now, in an interview with Polish website Futbolfejs.pl, Zielinski has dropped his biggest hint yet about a potential move to the Premier League.

Keeping his cards close to his chest, the midfielder rubbished the idea that "these are just rumours", announcing that "I know a little more about it".

He's obviously interested in a move, revealing that he asked fellow Pole Jakub Blaszczykowski about working with Klopp. Explaining that 'Kuba' "told me about his personality, gave me some tips", Zielinski admitted that "nothing is known yet".

Midfielder must now finish the season strongly

Before all of that, the Pole must finish the season strongly with Empoli in Serie A, before linking up with the likes of Robert Lewandowski for the Euro's.

Asked about his plans for the summer, he said "I'd wish to play well in the Euro's", and that everything afterwards will be determined by his play between now and pre-season.

It's yet to be seen whether or not Liverpool will secure the signing of the exciting midfielder, but given his relative unknown status in England, fans will be hoping that Klopp can pull a gem out of the bag much like during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
