Manchester City failed to take advantage of Arsenal's devastating loss to Liverpool on Saturday after a scoreless draw against Norwich City. Chris Hughton and the Canaries were more than pleased with the performance after a 7-0 beat down at the Etihad earlier this season, but Manuel Pellegrini was left with more questions after another letdown in a tight Premier League race.

The Citizens were without Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, and Fernandinho due to injury and Manuel Pellegrini's men struggled to find the net for the second straight match this week. Stevan Jovetic received his first Premier League start next to Alvaro Negredo up front on the attack, but Norwich held their ground throughout to gain a much needed point against one of the league's best.

The Citizens have dropped to third in the table after Chelsea's 3-0 win over Newcastle, though the top-3 clubs are only separated by two points or less. Liverpool is quickly closing the gap, but Pellegrini remains focused on his club's recent struggles in hopes of regaining momentum through a rough February schedule. The Chilean is still confident in his side and he made it known after Saturday's match that the race for the title is just beginning.

"All teams at the top will drop points. I said that at the start of the season. There are five or six teams fighting for the title. The difference is two points, the same as last week, and there are 39 to play for and we will win as many of them as we can," Pellegrini said after the scoreless draw at Norwich City. "We must try to play the way we were two weeks ago."

Manchester City failed to find a rhythm early in the first half at Carrow Road and Norwich came close to taking the lead on multiple occasions. Ricky van Wolfswinkel had a prime opportunity to break the deadlock in the final minutes, but he missed a clear chance in front of Joe Hart before extra time.

Manuel Pellegrini expressed his frustration about the draw, but the club's injuries have also become a major concern for the manager as they move forward.

"I don’t think we were affected by the Chelsea result. I think the team was more affected by everyone not being 100% fit," Pellegrini added. "Alvaro has had a problem with his shoulder for the past three weeks. It’s important for us that he can recover 100%."

The Canaries were superb throughout, but City had plenty of chances to capitalize on open space and add to the scoresheet. Manuel Pellegrini will look to regroup going into a meeting with Sunderland on Wednesday after failing to score in two straight matches for the first time since January 2012.

"The home team can have chances in 93 minutes and Norwich had theirs at the end of the game. We had three or four before that but didn’t score," he explained. "I'm frustrated as we went there to win."

Can Manchester City find their relentless attack once again after a rough week to start February?
