Manchester City have suffered a major setback this week with the loss at Anfield but The Blues have dodged a bullet after Yaya Touré was revealed to only be absent for a matter of days, as opposed to the rest of the season. The Ivorian midfielder went off injured in the first half of the game on Sunday, and afterwards Manuel Pellegrini told beIN Sports that he thought the 30-year-old would be out for the remainder of the 2013-14 season.

The City manager revealed the true extent of Touré’s injury in his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game against Sunderland, the Chilean saying “maybe it's not as bad as we thought at the beginning but he needs at least 10 days or two weeks to recover.” This means City’s star midfielder will potentially miss games against Sunderland tomorrow, West Bromwich Albion next Monday night, and Crystal Palace away in just over a week’s time.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Sergio Agüero remains fit for tomorrow’s game, whilst Vincent Kompany, who picked up an injury in training the day before the game at the weekend and recovered just in time to start at Anfield before slipping up and allowing Coutinho to score the winner, is fit enough once again to start at The Etihad tomorrow.
