Manchester City are expected to make a £30 million bid for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger issued a warning to the current champions to keep their hands off the midfielder after he emerged on Manuel Pelligrini’s summer wish-list.

Wenger said: “You can imagine my answer. We are not in a position where we have to sell our best players.”

The 23-year-old still has three years left on his current contract and plans for a new deal will brought forward to this summer to fend off any interest from outside parties, however Wilshere who has recently returned from an ankle injury will know that his place in the squad isn’t necessarily secure.

The Englishman has made 9 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring once and keeping up a great pass success rate of 83% while creating 7 chances.

Wilshere wouldn’t be the first Arsenal to make the switch to the Etihad with; Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna all making the move which cost City more than £70million pounds.
