Manchester City manager Manuel Pelligrini has confirmed that the trio of Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany and Stevan Jovetic will be missing for the trip to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Toure is likely to be missing for the next two matches while the captain could be return for the clash with QPR at Etihad Stadium on May 10.

Pelligrini said: “Yaya is injured. We will see next week but I think he will be out for at least one more week. I think it will be very difficult for him to play against QPR.

“Vincent is progressing. I think maybe he will be ready next week. Stevan Jovetic is also injured but there is nobody else.”

Despite those injuries the rest of the squad has been past fit for what will be a very tough test in North London against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

City will continue to push to secure second push while the hosts will be looking to secure a place in next season’s Europa League.

Pelligrini added: “It will be a very tough game because Tottenham are a good team with good players and a good manager,

“They play in an offensive way so we must work very hard in defence. They need points to qualify for the Europa League and we must try to be near the top of the table. It is two teams who play well and try to attack.

“We hope that we will play a very good game for the fans.”

It has been very tough season for Manchester City as it seems inevitable that they will hand over their title to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Despite the disappointment the Chilean feels the support of the coaching staff, players and fans.

Pelligrini stated: “I feel that support every day because I work with all the players every day. I said last week that in a bad season that second place is not something to be ashamed of. “

Manchester City will face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane at 4pm on Sunday May 3.
