Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony is looking forward to returning to the team he joined City from, Swansea, as the two sides meet in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.

It will be Bony's first game against Swansea since his £30million move this January. The Ivorian scored 25 goals in 54 games for Swansea after moving there from Vitesse in 2013, and is hoping for a warm reception upon his return to Wales.

“I’m excited about returning to Swansea for the first time,” he said. “I don’t know what sort of reception I will get but my wish is that it is a good one, but we will see. They had a good win at Arsenal last Monday and that was a big help for us in our attempt to secure second position. It should be a good game because they still want to finish as high in the Premier League as they can and they also still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League so there is a lot to play for.

That said, we will go there to win because finishing second is the best we can do this season.”

Bony hasn't excelled since moving North in January, having only managed one goal in his first eight games in a Sky Blue shirt. Despite this, performances have improved recently and he played a big part in last week's 6-0 thrashing over Queen's Park Rangers having come off the substitutes' bench. When asked if it was his best performance for City yet, he wasn't sure.

“I don’t know about that – it’s more important to play for the team and give 100% every time we play,” he said. “I always remain positive so if I’m not scoring goals I don’t stress about it because I know things will come good eventually. I enjoy playing alongside Aguero when I’ve had the opportunity because he is a very good player. He’s a great striker and I think we will make a good partnership as we get to know each other’s game better."
