Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanić has urged fellow compatriot and international team mate Edin Džeko to quit bit-time role at Manchester City to be a crucial component in Roma's scudetto charge next season.

Džeko who only played in 23 of Manchester City's 38 Premier league games last season scoring 6 goals in a total of 35 games, his joint lowest since his £27m move from VfL Wolfsburg has been frustarted with his lack of game time this season. This was further intestified with the signing of Ivorian striker Wilfred Bony from Swansea who cost the then champions £30m, which raised further questions of the Bosnian's future at Manchester City.

Roma who like City endured a tough season, with the highlight being the 7-1 home defeat at the hands of German champions
FC Bayern Munich in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The capital side finished 17 points behind champions Juventus only finishing 1 point ahead of the 3rd place team and local rivals Lazio.

Pjanić told Roma TV, “I do speak to Dzeko often and we talk about our respective clubs. It has been a difficult year for him. He’s good for any team that he plays for, has won a great deal and I’d love to have him near me again.

The Bosnian playmaker also spoke of his admiration for the two mainstays in the Roma team, the captain Francesco Totti and vice captain Daniele De Rossi.

'They are two emblems of this squad,' he said. 'Daniele is a very important person in the dressing room -- he makes you feel love for Roma because he's a fan on the field.

'He gives you determination and anger. He's a great man and I'm happy to share these moments with him.

'Totti is the king of Rome, the boss of all of us. I get on well with him off the field while, on it, it's all so much easier with him. He's a great player and always knows what you want to do and sees things first. It's an honour to play with him.

'He may be a bit daft in the dressing room, but he's a fantastic, incredible player. I hope that he can carry on playing for a lot longer.

'He's had an extraordinary, magnificent career. He's written history for Roma and Italy.'
