Serie A side Inter Milan are reportedly set to offer up to £15million pounds for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic - whose future is still uncertain, after a lacklustre impact with the sky Blues since his switch from Fiorentina two years ago.

Inconsistency and injuries hurt Jovetic's City chances

The 25-year-old was heavily rated as one of the best clinical finishers in the league prior to his move with the Citzens, and a mixture of injuries as well as inconsistency has hurt his form drastically since then.

Roberto Mancini's Inter side are looking to improve their squad all-round, as they are eager to get back into the UEFA Champions League in the not-too-distant future. Having already tied down Mauro Icardi to a new contract extension; thus shooing away interest from plenty of European clubs including Chelsea, Internazionale will be desperate to improve on a rather poor eighth placed finish in the league last term.

Inter eager to improve and get back into Champions League

They've already spent in excess of €60million euros this summer, completing six deals - the biggest of which was a €35m deal to sign highly sought-after defensive-midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, from AS Monaco. If the two clubs agree a fee for Stevan, who is publicly disgruntled at his lack of first-team opportunities, he'd become the club's fourth first-team striker. Rodrigo Palacio, George Puscas and Icardi are all in the side's senior ranks at the moment.

Inter are eager to make an approach for a cut-price fee, according to reports. City are ready to listen to any offers in excess of £12million pounds for the Montenegrin, but Mancini's men are open to a loan deal - with a possible view to a permanent move afterwards, depending on how he fares.

Jovetic, who made 30 appearances in the 2014/15 campaign for both club and country, has been seen as much of a bit-part player for the sky Blues especially with Sergio Agüero flourishing up-top. Edin Dzeko has been heavily linked with a move to AS Roma whilst Wilfried Bony is expected to flourish in a deadly forward pairing with the Argentinian maestro next season, meaning their futures are uncertain.
