Having beaten Premier League strugglers Sunderland quite convincingly away from home, Manchester City have been drawn in another top flight clash, against Crystal Palace at home in the Fourth Round of this season's Capital One Cup.

Manuel Pellegrini's side will be hoping to go all the way in the competition this term, especially after struggling domestically last year. A shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sunderland's local rivals Newcastle United knocked the Citizens out of the tournament at the Last 16 stage - but with the ever-improving squad depth and quality within, they'll be hoping to better previous results.

Having strolled past Sunderland, City have another challenge

Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, two of the club's big-money summer recruits, found themselves on the scoresheet in a rampant display on Wearside. Dick Advocaat's men started slowly, and the attacking duo made them pay to devastating effect - with the link-up play on the flank a joy to behold at times, especially counter-attacking at speed.

They'll be hoping to continue their impressive partnership together, as the current league leaders travel to north London for a challenging test against Tottenham at White Hart Lane; hoping to avoid back-to-back defeats in the league after an encouraging start to the campaign was tarnished somewhat by a frustrating 2-1 loss against Slaven Bilic's spirited West Ham side last weekend.

A tough task ahead against Pardew's men

With the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all still in contention of progressing into the quarter-finals of the tournament, City will be eagerly hoping they can do the same - not least in-front of their home supporters, too.

That may be easier said than done, though. Alan Pardew's side ultimately will have nothing to lose, and also will be hoping to exact sweet revenge after conceding a late winner in their previous fixture a fortnight ago.
