Surprise links with Mangala

According to recent reports in Manchester Evening News, Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala has been linked with a surprise move to Belgian side Standard Leige.

Having already completed a move to sign Manchester United's Victor Valdes on an initial loan deal, Daniel van Buyten - a director at the club - is reportedly hoping that his contacts at the Ethiad will help to lure the French centre-back to Belgium.

The 24-year-old, who joined the sky Blues for approximately £42million pounds in the summer of 2014, has struggled for consistency since his lucrative switch from Porto. Question is though, would Manuel Pellegrini be willing to sell - especially given this time of the season?

Roberts angling for loan switch

The talented young winger, who joined the Citizens last summer in a deal worth up to £12million pounds from Fulham, hasn't seen much first-team opportunities since his switch. Considering the quality in depth within the side - especially attacking-wise, it's not much of a surprise.

Immensely talented, Roberts has been used sparingly in the EDS side - but shone with consistently impressive displays in the UEFA Youth League, before Christmas.

Scottish champions Celtic are believed to be frontrunners for his temporary signature until the end of the current campaign.

Cup preparations as Wembley looms

Ahead of Wednesday evening's Capital One Cup semi-final, second leg fixture against Roberto Martinez' side, plenty of supporters and players alike have been getting in the Cup spirit prior to kick-off.

Sergio Agüero, who scored his second successive brace to help snatch a hard-fought point against West Ham on the weekend, said this:

"It's very important for us that the crowd support us from the first minute, because we need them."

The talented Argentine continued, saying that it'll be a "very important night", where the team "have to give it all" from the beginning in order to win tomorrow. "I always want to win trophies, we've worked hard to get to this stage."

Will the sky Blues get to next month's final? Find out tomorrow evening - as they host the Toffees, with a 2-1 aggregate deficit to overturn.
