Sané one of Europe's most exciting

Sané is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football, with an electric turn of pace and a high-level of technical ability.

The Essen-born midfielder can play either centrally or in an attacking winger role, as he may be deployed for City.

After coming up through the Gelsenkirchen side's youth academy in 2005, the German international switched to Bayer Leverkusen in 2008, before once again returning to Schalke three years later.

Sané then broke into the senior side of thr Bundesliga outfit in 2014, netting 11 times in 47 appearances over two seasons. The midfielder made his international bow for Joachim Löw's Germany back in November.

'Special talent and an exciting player'

Guardiola admitted to being a huge fan of Sané previously, during his spell at Bayern Munich and is delighted with the capture of the 20 year-old.

Speaking to the club's official website, the Spaniard stated, "He is a special talent and an exciting player who I think our supporters will enjoy watching."

The City boss continued that "he has great technical ability", adding that "there is much to admire about the way he plays football." Guardiola is excited to have such a young prospect in his ranks saying, "at 20 he is still developing as a player" and as a member of Die Mannschaft already, "he will be a fantastic asset to our club".

Sané himself stated of his move, "I think [Pep Guardiola] can make me a more complete player."

Sané will wear the number 19.
