With David Moyes expected to rejuvinate his squad in the summer with a hefty £200 million transfer budget, it seems the team of 'Fergie's Wonderland' is all but gone.

Paul Scholes retired once again at the end of the previous campaign, and it looks like veteran Ryan Giggs will finally end his playing days after a luminating career as a Red Devil.

Despite the recent contract extension of a radiant Wayne Rooney, another loss was confirmed in a lacklustre season - club captain Nemanja Vidic. The harrowing news would see the 5 time Premier League, and 1 time Champions League winner head off to Serie A's Internazionale, leaving the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling to battle to solidify their place in the starting XI after many precarious seasons.

However, the news for the futile fans has now gone from bad to worse, as it looks like current vice-captain and 54 time internationally capped left back Patrice Evra may be off on his travels. Having been capped over 250 times for the Manchester side, the Frenchman has featured alongside Nemanja Vidic for many years, forming one of the most illustrious, and formidable, back four alongside Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville. The aging players have seen the full effects though, and with Moyes linked to numerous left-backs since succeeding Ferguson, it looks likely for the 32-year-old to follow in the footsteps of his Serbian companion and head to Italy.

With rumours spreading for some time about the happiness of Evra at the club, while fans became despondant with his playing style, a move has been inevitable for the defender for some time. Despite recently triggering a contract extension, it looks to have little use with Evra's agent suggesting a move to play in the Serie A was on the cards.  It looks certain a new contract will not be signed come May, and then it may be down to other club's putting in the offer for the attacking full-back.

Federico Pastorello, Evra's agent, recently told the Daily Star about his client's doubts over his future, and potential turmoil in the near future, saying "Patrice has to decide what to do with his future. He is very close to United, but lately things have changed a little.”

Signing under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2006, he was once named the best left-back in the Premier League, and one of the best in the world, but with growing age and a loss in playing ability, Alexander Buttner has recently favoured the left-back role under the reign of David Moyes.

With past experience playing in Italy many years ago, Pastorello confirmed a move to the Mediterian could certainly be an option. "Could he come back to Italy? Patrice has always highly regarded Serie A and so, if he were to leave England, it could be a possibility,” he said. "But at the moment it is still too early to talk about next season."

Inter Milan were initially linked with the defender - reuniting the two Red Devils, but the club president Erick Thohir has since ruled out a move for him.

Serie A is the probable destination for the three time Premier League Team of the Year selectee, but will a club be willing to encorporate him into their squad?
