By all accounts, Manchester United haven't had a good season. The Red Devils have struggled after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes hasn't been up to the standards replacing him. The team are out of the Premier League title race, were destroyed in the Champions League and weren't even able to make a title run on either of the domestic cups.

The ownership might be already done with the subpar performances and there are several reports indicating that Moyes could be out of a job towards next season.

The BBC and The Guardian are reporting the Scot is out of favour with the club's owners thanks to what has been a dismal season in 2013-14. The weekend defeat against Everton meant that United failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the last 20 years and the team will finish with their lowest points total in the Premier League history.

There are also conflicting reports regarding the players - Robin van Persie has reportedly admitted he's not a fan on Moyes' tactics and training schedules - and some players haven't been able to play at their full potential. The signing policy isn't exactly pleasing to the fans - the team had several needs prior to the season and only signed Marouane Fellaini who is quickly turning into a bust - and the manager has simply lost the support of both the dressing room and the Glazer family.

Moyes' tenure could even end before Saturday's match against Norwich City. If the former Everton manager chooses to seek assurances about his job - something he's rumored to be looking for and something that the ownership is unlikely to offer - his reign at The Theatre Of Dreams might be done. It would be a huge failure to sack the manager only 11 months after giving him a six-year contract to replace Ferguson but with the players turning their backs against him and with his team of coaching staff not earning the respect of the players, sacking the Scot seems like the only way to go at this point.

Replacements

Jurgen Klopp, Diego Simeone and even Ryan Giggs - who's rumored to be retiring at the end of the season to pursue a coaching role with The Red Devils - are rumored to be alternatives to replace Moyes but that's all speculation at this point. So is the sacking of Moyes but the future of the Scottish manager seems to be far and away from Old Trafford.
