Manchester United are set to announce their record breaking annual results today. The record is anticipated to be around £420million for the 2013-2014 campaign with a total profit of approximately £25million.

The profit was helped by a cool two million sales of replica jerseys, taking Man Utd's average shirt sales per year second to Real Madrid.

The revenues of course include the payout that was incurred to the former manager David Moyes.

Even during Manchester United's disappointing campaign last year, the total revenue is forecasted to be around a 20% increase. This is said to be boosted by their commercial revenue successes in which are anticipated to be up by 25%. The profit is said to have reduced significantly compared to the previous season - this is as a result of a one off tax credit for the previous financial year.

The prospectus states: “The Manchester United jersey and training wear are completely redesigned for each season. The annual launch of the new jersey is always a much-anticipated day for our global community of followers.

“The result is a robust wholesale apparel business that sold approximately 5m items of Manchester United branded licensed products, including approximately 2m replica jerseys, around the world in the last year.”

Of course Manchester United have spent heavily in preparation for this years campaign. Notably their British record signing Angel Di Maria. This is forecasted to boost their shirt sales further before the Manchester United crest is placed on the lucrative Adidas jersey.

The Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will take part in a conference call with investors after the results are released.
