Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has announced his return to training with Louis van Gaal’s side, following his recently sustained calf injury.

The Colombian international has failed to make an appearance for the Red Devils since a nervous 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion on 20th October, but hoped to return in time to feature in United’s eventual 2-1 victory over North London side Arsenal.

Back to training 100 percent and ready to help the team in the next games.

However, Van Gaal had revealed Falcao would remain out of action for a few weeks prior to the Premier League clash, ruling him out for an additional two weeks with a fresh injury.

The striker is yet to complete a full 90 minutes in the Manchester jersey since his temporary arrival from Monaco, but a permanent switch come the end of the season remains imminent with the besieged form of Robin van Persie, and Wayne Rooney’s alteration into the midfield.

The departure of Danny Welbeck – who failed to beat an in-form David De Gea at the Emirates – and Javier Hernandez potentially hoping to remain in La Liga with the completion of his loan spell with Real Madrid, would see James Wilson the only real contender in the starting line-up to play as a complete forward.

Falcao, who has made 54 international appearances after missing the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro due to injury, took to social networking site Twitter to confirm his return to Carrington after over a month out of action. He said:

“Back to training 100 per cent [sic] and ready to help the team in the next games.”

Despite recurring criticism for their apparent struggles and poor domestic campaign, victory over the Gunners saw the 20-time Premier League winners rise to fourth place after 12 games.

The Reds will now face two games in the space of just four days, welcoming Hull City to Old Trafford, before entertaining Stoke City, which Falcao is likely to sit out.
