Manchester United winger Nani has singled out Portuguese youngster Angel Gomes as a future star at the Theatre of Dreams.

Having joined the Red Devils back in May 2014, Gomes showed great promised at an early age, featuring for the Under-17’s side on trial at the tender age of 13.

Current Sporting Lisbon winger Nani, who is on loan from United, took to social networking site Instagram to praise the youngster, commenting, “Sigam a nova estrela do Man Utd, Angel! Follow the Man Utd next star, Angel!”

Gomes in the son of former Portuguese striker Gil, who previously coached at the Manchester club while representing Salford City; having also lifted the Under-20 World Championships back in 1991.

Gil represented his nation as an Under-20 and Under-21 international, and managed seven goals in 30 appearances on the international stage as a forward.

His son will now hope to follow in his footsteps, but may hope to feature in club football on a greater scale, with his father ending his career with Hyde United and New East Manchester, a Sunday league side.

There is an uncertainty behind the reasoning of the praise from the 83-time internationally capped wideman, but fans will be eager to keep an eye on their 14-year-old playing against boys up to four years older.
