Championship side Bolton Wanderers have finalised the signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos on a one-month loan.

The second-tier outfit have secured the signature of the 24-year-old to cover the loss of Adam Bogdan, with the Hungarian first-choice keeper ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

Amos has managed just seven first-team appearances having come through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, and has spent the majority of the season with the Under-21’s, despite his age.

Recently lining up with the youth side alongside Anderson, he does have Football League experience after loan spells with Carlisle, Hull City, Oldham Athletic and Peterborough United.

Having represented the England national team as an Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21, the Macclesfield born keeper has been unable to make a senior appearance for the Three Lions

The keeper now joins Andy Lonergan – a former Preston North End favourite - and Ross Fitzsimons in the ranks at the Reebok Stadium.

Surprisingly, Amos does have European experience. The goalkeeper featured in United's final Champions League group match in December 2010, starting against Valencia at Old Trafford. With Pablo Hernandez beating him after 32 minutes in the 1-1 draw, it became the first goal the Red Devils had conceded in the prestigious tournament that season.

Amos also featured for Norwegian side Molde FK on loan back in 2010.
