Manchester United

Goalkeeper: David de Gea- The Spaniard is always the first name on the team sheet as he is currently Manchester United's player of the season so far.  With seven clean sheets and 72 saves in the season, his job will remain untouched.

Right Back: Antonio ValenciaWith Rafael still a doubt with his injury, Antonio Valencia should get the nod here.  He played some of his best football last week against Preston with an assist so he should be a threat yet again in this one.

Centerback: Phil Jones- LVG seems intent on really getting the Jones and Rojo partnership playing well together.  Jones is error-prone and ball watches too much at times, but he can make up for it with his speed to get back and catch the defender.

Centerback: Marcos Rojo- The second half of the Jones-Rojo duo is probably one of the unsung members of the United team.  With all the attention on the youngsters and the other three veterans (Smalling, Jones, and Evans), Rojo has quietly had a strong season at the back for the shaky Red Devils backline.

Left Back: Luke Shaw- Since his return from injury, the teen has impressed all with his play making the thought of returning to a five at the back with Ashley Young at this spot all but an afterthought.  He played a vital role in United's team goal last week with his continuous run.

Defensive Midfielder: Daley Blind- Without Michael Carrick, Daley Blind's role as a holding mid is never going to be threatened.  His decisions on either to get the ball forward or to run with it are key in getting the United attack going.

Defensive Midfielder: Ander Herrera- The fan favourite once again backed up his spot on the first team with another goal - Swansea.  Although he is not the defensive midfield type, Herrera possesses a creativity and passing fluidity this Manchester United team lacks.

Right Wing: Adnan Januzaj: Opportunities have come few, far, and between for the young Belgian, but with Van Gaal possibly going for another different formation, this could be his chance to impress.  His flair and creativity last season was what a bright spot in last year's bleak season, and tomorrow he looks to add to his successful last season.

Attacking Midfielder: Juan Mata- It has been awhile since the star of the 2014 January transfer window has been given a start, but just like Januzaj, a change in the Van Gaal formation should give him this opportunity.  The Spaniard's five goals in the league rank third most in the team.

Left Wing: Angel Di Maria- The wing role was originally where Di Maria thrived before moving into a more central role at the end or his Real Madrid career.  The Argentine should be able to show off his pace and passing ability down the wing possessing a threat that Sunderland may have a hard time dealing with.

Striker: Wayne Rooney- With van Persie doubtful and Falcao struggling to find form, the captain is once again moved up to his natural position at striker. It has been an eternity since he has found the back of the net due to his midfield move, but this should be one of his best chances to score already carrying eight goals and four assists coming into the game.

Sunderland

Goalkeeper: Costel Pantilimon- The Romanian has been a revelation since coming in for Vito Mannone.  Seven clean sheets in seventeen appearances shows how important he is to the squad.  His 6'8'' frame will give United quite a challenge to beat tomorrow.

Right Back: Santiago Vergini- The Argentine on loan from Estudiantes has impressed Gus Poyet making 25 starts out of a possible 26 making him a near guarantee start.

Centerback: Wes Brown- The first of the ex-United centerback pairing has been a near mainstay in the squad with 18 starts this season.  He is keen to make an impression at Old Trafford, a place where he used to call home.

Centerback: John O'Shea- The second of the ex-United centerback pairing has been a consistent option for the team at the back making all but one start.  The Irishman is prone to errors though which could allow to United to breakthrough.

Left Back- Anthony Reveillere- The 35 year-old Frenchman hasn't really been challenged by his only challenger Billy Jones.  This makes it his job to lose.

Right Midfielder: Ricardo Alvarez- The man on loan from Inter has only made 11 appearances this season, but his creative ability is what Sunderland need in the midfield.

Center Midfielder: Sebastian Larsson- The Swede is arguably one of the biggest threats at finding the back of the net.  He is a danger on set pieces and has been involved in six of Sunderland's goals this season.

Center Midfielder: Lee Cattermole- The Englishman brings a grit and toughness to the team that no one else has.  It shows with his nine yellow cards.  He is going to have to get under the skin of United's players to get Sunderland going.

Left Midfielder: Adam Johnson- The ex-City player has a knack at performing his best against the top Premier League clubs.  One of the Black Cats' players has been underwhelming this season though with only four league goals, but that is joint most on the team.

Striker: Connor Wickham- The English forward has been the most consistent starter under Gus Poyet with 21 starts to his name.  He has three goals to his name this season and should provide some help to the other striker, Jermain Defoe.

Striker: Jermain Defoe- The Englishman has made an impact since his January move from Toronto FC.  With two goals already, he is closing in quickly for the team lead in goals.
