Radamel Falcao has thanked Manchester United fans for their unforgettable support after he returned to his parent club AS Monaco following a loan move in Manchester.

United confirmed that Falcao would not be signed permanently after a season-long loan deal on Sunday, after their 0-0 draw against Hull City.

On Monday he shared his thoughts on social media, thanking the fans for backing him throughout the season. This support from the red half of Manchester came despite Falcao scoring just 4 times and assisting just 4 times.

"I wanna thank Manchester United and all its fans for every word and gesture of support they gave me in every match," Falcao wrote on Instagram.

"I'll never forget it!!" he added.

The total cost of his loan move at United has been worked out to be roughly £16 million with £10 million in wages for Colombia's all time record goalscorer.

Monaco will still be looking to sell Falcao with his wages costing far too much to comply with Financial Fair Play rules for the French side. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all rumoured to be interested in him.
