Ander Herrera received 49% of votes from Manchester United supporters to see him win the 'Goal of the Month' award for May after his volley against Arsenal.

His goal was up for the award along with reserve player Matty Willock and highly rated under 18 player Callum Gribbin.

The Spanish international won the award after his strike in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last month in United's final home game of the season.

Herrera has settled superbly into his first year at Old Trafford scoring eight times in 31 appearances for United and picks up the award for the second time after winning it back in January for his strike against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.

The 25-year-old was happy with the award and said: "Of course I have to keep improving and keep going, but eight goals for a midfielder is a good stat. I am an ambitious player so I want to keep improving."

Along with the eight goals this season, Herrera also assisted five times for United and some fans believe that he has been the signing of the season for the Reds.

Herrera has been one of the stand out players this season for United and has already become a regualar starter under Louis van Gaal.
