Gareth Bale has consistently been linked with a move to Manchester United for years. United legend Dwight Yorke has urged his former club splash the cash on bringing Bale to the club this summer.

Yorke has implored that United bring him back to the Premier League, telling the Sun he's one of the best players in the world. Bale hasn't had the best of seasons at Madrid last season were he suffered from second season syndrome and Yorke has pleaded to United to sign him.

Former-striker tells United to buy one of the best in the world

He told the Sun that he "would get Gareth Bale in" because he is "who United need" someone "who will just take the ball and run."

Treble winner Yorke described the Welshman in three words, "British, exciting, fast", saying that "he goes past people and that will lift everyone going forward."

"He is one of the best in the World" Yorke said, "when he is in full flow" and "that is why [Real] Madrid paid the money for him", pointing to the fact that he is football's most expensive transfer ever at over £86 million.

Yorke recommends Bale to United

Yorke said that if he was "signing one player for United" in this summer transfer window, "it would be him".

Gareth Bale in his first season with Real Madrid was fantastic, where he scored goals in the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals to help Madrid win silverware. Even though he done this last campaign he suffered huge criticism from the fans and the media over his form as he couldn't recapture his form from his first season.

Bale's car was targeted by Real Madrid fans after Real Madrid's loss to Barcelona in the El Clasico last season and also after the defeat to Juventus in the Champions League semi final.

Garteh Bale moved to Real Madrid in 2013 for a world record fee and it would probably take the same if not more to bring him to Old Trafford. It's obvious United really want Bale but Madrid don't want to sell him but things can change but for the moment the move is highly unlikely to happen.
