Javier Hernandez is back at Manchester United after his loan spell ended with Real Madrid and Juan Mata is hoping that he will remain at United and not be sold this summer.

Hernandez is back from Real Madrid loan and Mata wants him to stay

Hernandez played 32 games for Real Madrid last season but only started 11 and it has been speculated for a few weeks that United were looking to sell him this summer with a number of clubs interested. Juan Mata from a personal perspective hopes he stays in Manchester.

Mata, in an interview with reporters in Mexico, had his say on Hernandez staying at United saying, “Chicharito still belongs to Manchester United and selfishly I'd like him to be with us."

He went on to say what he thinks that Hernandez brings to the team saying, “he has scored goals in every team he has played in and is a very smart striker."

Mata then told reporters of how when he first came to Manchester United how Hernandez helped him settle in saying, “Chicharito is a great friend. When I arrived to Manchester he behaved great with me. He is a great person and a great professional. I've been lucky enough to share a dressing room with Chicharito, whom I admire."

Hernandez has been linked to a number of clubs

Hernandez is about to his enter his last year of his United contract and the prospects of him staying is not likely at all. It has been reported that Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Southampton and Juventus had been interested in a move for him so we will see over the coming weeks what will happen with Hernandez.

Hernandez scored a very important goal during his time at Real Madrid by scoring the winner in the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid and Louis van Gaal was asked could it revive the strikers United career, van Gaal laughed and replied: "What do you think?"

The only reason many would want Hernandez to stay at United this summer is if the club don't manage to buy a new striker this summer then he can become a good backup when needed. Hernandez needs a new start at a new club and can be successful again as he always seems to get into the right scoring positions.
