Robin van Persie's exit out of Old Trafford this summer seems to be becoming a reality now after various bettings sites suspend betting on the Dutchman leaving.

It has been reported that the agent of Van Persie, Kees Vos, has been in Istanbul for the past two days, involved in negotiations with the Turkish club Fenerbahce to secure a deal.

Van Persie close to leaving United

Despite claiming the Manchester United forward has already agreed personal terms with the club and is ready to sign a four-year deal, the two clubs are suggested to yet agree on a fee and disscussions are still underway.

It has also been reported that former Netherlands international teammate and former Fenerbahce forward Dirk Kuyt has had some influence in convincing Van Persie to make the move over to Super Lig.

The former Liverpool man spent three seasons with the Turkish side where he won the Super Lig and scored 26 goals in 95 apperences for the club.

Fenerbahce ready to steal former-Golden Boot winner

After signing from Arsenal for £24million in the summer of 2012, Van Persie's impact at Manchester United was instant as helped them secure their 20th Premier League title, contribruting 26 goals.

His stunning season earned him the supporters vote for the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the 2012/13 season. Van Persie was nominated by UEFA into the 10-man shortlist for the 2012–13 Best Player in Europe award.

Unfortuantly for the Red Devils fans, Van Persie was unable to replicate the highs of previous seasons this year as the 31 year old struggled with reocurring injuries.

With growing speculation on his future and according to his former Netherlands team-mate Pierre van Hooijdonk, he claims Manchester United have been trying to sell Robin van Persie since January.

With Louis van Gaal looking to continure to spend in the summer, Van Persie seems to have set his sights on prolonging his career with a new challenge in the Super Lig.
