With the amount of speculation of David De Gea leaving to join Real Madrid this summer, Manchester United may be looking to sign a new goalkeeper.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea fear that United may try and hijack a deal for Asmir Begovic this summer.

Chelsea looking for a quick replacement for Cech

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Petr Cech after he moved to local rivals Arsenal but are yet to agree a fee for Begovic.

Louis van Gaal could well be looking at Begovic to replace De Gea and he wouldn't cost that much to get either. It is said that Stoke want about £10 million so the fee shouldn't be a problem.

Chelsea want to get the deal done urgently as they fear that United are plotting their own move to try and sign him this summer under Chelsea's noses, and Chelsea have only offered £6million so far which was rejected already by Stoke.

United will have a list of replacements ready if the likely deal for De Gea does happen, Begovic would be a good option as he has good Premier League experience. United will need a keeper that can do what De Gea did last season where his stunning form helped United earn a lucrative Champions League spot next season.

Mourinho wants the deal wrapped up as soon as possible

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is anxious about getting a deal over the line for Begovic as he does not want to go head to head with Louis van Gaal.

Furthermore there has been a number of different names linked to United for the goalkeeper position this summer such as Jasper Cillessen, Hugo Lloris and now Begovic so we can only assume Van Gaal is looking closely at each of these.

More reports may appear this coming week

It will be interesting to see if there are more reports during this week to see if United are serious about signing about Begovic as it is said Chelsea are closing in on him. He would be a very good signing as he is one of the best in the Premier League and he is looking for a new club so it is a no brainer if it happens.
