Manchester United have been linked heavily with the Spanish defender Sergio Ramos throughout this summer. With reports emerging in Spain that the Red Devils will not allow David De Gea to join Real Madrid if Ramos is not included in the deal.

However the Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believes that he “can’t see Madrid letting him leave”. The duo have played together for the Spanish national team and have won two European and World titles together. However Ramos has recently while talking to media said that he is not negotiating with anyone.

One Bid Rejected Already.

On the other hand De Gea joined Manchester United pre-season training. The keeper will currently enter into the final year of his current deal. This surely indicates that United are keen to have Ramos in return despite having an initial bid of £28.6 million rejected. The Spaniard has spent ten seasons at the Bernabeu as he joined them in 2005 from Sevilla. Ramos currently has two years remaining on his current deal.

While talking to AS, Iniesta hailed Ramos as “one of the best centre-backs around”. He also went on to say he will not away from Spain as “he is already in a great team.”

Experienced

Manchester United have tied down their two centre backs Chris Smalling and Phil Jones to long term contracts this summers. Despite this fact United are looking for an experienced and a leader at the back. Ramos would be the perfect addition to bolster United’s defence.

Moreover his agent Rene Ramos has earlier revealed that his brother would like to experience a new challenge away from Madrid before before retiring. The relationship between Florentino Perez and Ramos has soured. So United are keen to soften the blow of departure of De Gea by signing the experienced centre back from Madrid.
