Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been given a chance by manager Louis Van Gaal to resurrect his career at the club.

Louis Van Gaal has hinted that Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez; who spent last season on-loan to Real Madrid, will be given the chance to rebuild his career at United.

Last season whilst at the Bernabeu, he spent a lot of time on the bench as he was seen as the replacement for main striker Karim Benzema.

The front three for Real Madrid was tough to break into but he managed to get a few games in that side.

His most notable moment from last year was the goal that he scored in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

The goal that he scored was the goal that knocked the clubs rivals out of the tournament and ended up being a very influential goal for the club.

Hernandez still has one-year left on his contract.

At that point, Van Gaal said that the Mexican didn’t have a place in the Manchester United roster even though he has a year left on his current contract.

He seems to have left an impression as the manager has changed his mind on the player as he has now been given a chance.

Hernandez will be one of the three remaining strikers that are still at the club as he will be alongside Wayne Rooney and James Wilson.

All three players were invited to the pre-season tour in the United States but, Hernandez is currently working off an injury and will only be available for the Chicago part of the tour.

When Van Gaal was interviewed in Seattle about Hernandez, he told the reporters why he let the player leave on-loan and why he is going to return to the club.

Van Gaal said: “At the time we have to decide which strikers we could have in Manchester United at that time we have already four strikers we have (Danny) Welbeck, we have Chicharito, we have (Robin) Van Persie, we have (James) Wilson and then I have to make a decision that I let go Chicharito and Welbeck because I have bought also Falcao.

“When you play a system with two strikers or one striker then you make decisions and I let Chicharito go, but now he is coming back.”
