Want away Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria has been fined two weeks worth of his £180,000 weekly wage having failed to show up for pre-season.

Di Maria missed flight to join pre-season squad

In the midst of a transfer to French champions Paris Saint Germain, Di Maria missed his flight to join the United squad on their tour of the United States of America.

The Argentina international had been in his home country, resting after the four week Copa America tournament where Argentina lost to hosts Chile in the final on a penalty shootout.

Now he is expected to complete his move to Paris Saint Germain in the next few days, with United beaten by PSG in the pre-season friendly tournament the International Champions Cup Blaise Matuidi and Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the two goals to give PSG the win needed to win the entire tournament.

Before he completes his move, United boss Louis van Gaal has handed him a huge fine worth two weeks wages, the equivalent of £360,000, for his misconduct as a United player.

Di Maria close to big money move to French Champions

Reports from the French capital have suggested that a deal has been agreed for around £44million while morning reports in the United Kingdom reiterated that, James Ducker of the Times and Mark Ogden of the Telegraph two of the most well connected to report the fee.

Di Maria moved to United from then European Champions Real Madrid just last summer, costing the Reds a British record fee of £59.7million. 

United will lose approximately £15million from the deal as well as losing a player of Di Maria's quality but it has been said by journalists traveling with the United squad that Di Maria was not happy with Van Gaal's style, both in training and in matches.
