Old Trafford has undergone a rebrand transformation after Manchester United’s new deal with sports giant Adidas.

The prominent Nike swoosh placed in the seats of the East stand and any remnants of the logo in and around the Premier League stadium have been replaced.

This is the first association that Adidas have had with United since in the 1990’s with the new deal between the two expected to be worth a world record amount of £750million.

This rebranding comes after the launch of the Red Devil’s new kit on August 1 which has fans reminiscing of United kits of old especially from in and around the 80’s.

First Adidas United kit for 23 years unveiled

The new kit which falls under the motto of ‘Breaking Expectations’ was launched by Daley Blind and Phil Jones in Manchester before distributed across the country.

This new kit deal will see United make up to £75m a year which is the biggest of its kind in Europe with the likes of; Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City behind them.

This kit has been long in the making with Adidas designer Inigo Turner saying that they have been on a “real journey” when creating these kits. Turner went onto to talk of the inspiration behind the new design by “re-engineering” simple designs such as the V-neck collar and the iconic three-stripe detailing on the arms.

United hierarchy are impressed with the managing director at the club, Richard Arnold, who was influential in the new bumper deal saying the club are “very proud” of the classic design. 

The new home shirt isn’t the end of it with a whole new retro range from the German sports manufacturer expected in the near future with Arnold saying the classic design will create a new “culture” and will open a “new chapter” in Manchester United’s history.

United will wear the kit for the first time on August 8 when United host Tottenham in the opening day of the new Premier League season.
