Bastian Schweinsteiger joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich this summer which ended his 13 years with the Bavarian club, which would have been very emotional for Schweinsteiger but he felt it was the right decision for the next stage in his great career.

Guardiola backs Schweinsteiger to have success if he stays injury free

At a press conference yesterday, Pep Guardiola was asked about Schweinsteiger, and Guardiola says that the player has his full backing to be a huge success for United but that is only if Schweinsteiger is able to put his injuries behind him.

Guardiola says that he is "convinced" Schweinsteiger will do great for "Manchester United" and the reason he thinks this is because "he is a top player" but Guardiola also gave a warning that Schweinsteiger "had problems with injuries in the last two years".

Guardiola continued on saying "Schweinsteiger was never in good physical condition" but when Schweinsteiger was fit he was a "big star and is really good player" and for Manchester United's sake "I hope that is going to happen".

Guardiola says injuries was one of the main reasons Bayern sold Schweinsteiger

Furthermore the point Guardiola is trying to say is the main reason why Bayern Munich let Schweinsteiger leave was because the injuries he had kept him out of far too many games.

Schweinsteiger over the last few years has a had a few injury problems including ankle and knee problems, which limited him to just 15 appearances in the Bundesliga last season.

Schweinsteiger had an interrupted pre season with United when he picked up a minor injury which made him miss the Barcelona match.

Schweinsteigers experience will be crucial to United

Schweinsteiger will be crucial to United with the huge amount of experience that he possess, but let's just hope he can get over his injury problems and help United have a right go at challenging for the Premier League.

Schweinsteiger is set to make his Premier League debut on Saturday for United at Old Trafford when United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the opening game.
