Louis van Gaal insists that his Manchester United players will not underestimate Club Brugge as they know the job is only half done.

United go into the game with a 3-1 lead from the first leg at Old Trafford, thanks to a Memphis Depay brace and a Marouane Fellaini goal, but Van Gaal does not believe his players think he job is already complete.

Van Gaal says his players will not take it easy

Van Gaal on the Brugge game said "I don't think my player shall take it easy so, no, I don't think so" which is good as if the players aren't focused there could be an upset but Van Gaal said "we have had the same preparation and I don't think well start any differently to the last game".

Van Gaal was very glad that Fellaini scored the third goal in added time last week, as now it puts United in a more commanding position in the tie instead of a 2-1 scoreline which would have made the second leg very tense.

Van Gaal says Fellaini's late goal was crucial for confidence

Van Gaal said Fellaini's goal "was very important" because United can now "start the game with more confidence", but Van Gaal also said "maybe we should finish it much earlier" which would have been better as it would have made everyone relax.

Van Gaal reveals that's United's aim is to "participate in the Champions League, but we are still not participating" which if United fail to get through the qualifier would be a disaster, and Van Gaal says that the "preliminary round is so important, you need to score one more than your opponent".

United are on the verge of the Champions League group stage

Overall Van Gaal knows United are on the verge of the group stages of the Champions League, but he also knows shocks do happen, so he'll be making sure that all of his players are fully concentrated to get the job done.
