Manchester United and Spanish international midfielder Juan Mata expressed his delight to the fans on an amazing week for the club, shortly before the match against Swansea City.

On Wednesday night, the Red Devils travelled to Belgium and got a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge on Wednesday night,  a result which sealed a 7-1 aggregate win in the European qualifier to qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stages.

Looking forward to the upcoming European nights at Old Trafford, Mata explained how his teammates and him were happy because they reached their first objective, saying "we knew we had to play Champions League football".

Thinking back to his previous glories in the competition, winning it with Chelsea in 2012, he praised the Champions League as the "best competition to play in"

Turning his attentions back to the Premier League, most notably Sunday's game against Swansea, he said that the mentality must be to "win every game" in the league, as the Red Devils look to mount a title challenge.

Future

Mata furthered his delight when it was announced that he will now play for his national team for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers with Slovakia and Macedonia as they look to qualify and achieve the goal of winning a third straight European Championship. 

Mata confirmed that he was indeed "very happy". On playing for Spain, he described it as "amazing" to represnet you country. On not playing for a while, he commented that "it's been a while" and this latest call up makes him both "happy and proud".

Asked specifically about the upcoming games against Slovenia and Macedonia, he acknowledged that they will certainly be "tough", however the squad are "looking forward to it".
