The transfer window clock is ticking down. Less than 48 hours is left for the Dutch manager to make his final touches and solve Manchester United's squad problems.

Former club legend and right back Gary Neville believes that Louis van Gaal needs to resolve the problems addressed at the both ends of his squad, urging to sign a striker and resolve David De Gea's long transfer related dilemma.

Neville urges United to sort goalkeeping situation

According to Sky Sports, the former England international thinks that Manchester United need to "sort the goalkeeping situation out" because it  "is a big problem if De Gea leaves and they don't get another goalkeeper in".

During his time at the club, Manchester United's number two has played with two of the world's best goal keepers in Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar as he thinks that "Manchester United have had incredible experience over the last 25 years" in the goalkeeping department, having had "Van der Sar, Schmeichel and, when they've not been able to fix that position down, it's caused problems".

Reds legend says they must sort striker situation

However, Neville is convinced that United's problems won't be solved by resolving the goal keeper issue only, as he thinks that signing a striker is a must, now that Javier Hernández is nearing to exit the club.

Neville stated the the fact that if Chicharito leaves the club, "they've got one striker" because he's "not classing Fellaini as a striker. They've got one striker in Wayne Rooney". Given his understanding and familiarity of what Manchester United is all about, he thinks that the club "have to resolve the centre-forward and the goalkeeper situation in the next two days".

In four Barclay's Premier League games this season, Manchester United have only scored three times, thanks to an own goal scored by Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker in the league opener.

It still remains unclear if the Dutch manager will land a striker by the end of the transfer window as it nears to conclude tomorrow at 18:00 UK time.
