Javier Hernandez is set to complete a move from Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen on a three-year deal for a fee of €12million, which will bring to an end to his five years at Old Trafford.

Hernandez is already undergoing Leverkusen medical

Hernandez is already in Leverkusen to have his medical ahead of the move, and it is likely to go through before the end of transfer window, which closes in Germany today and Hernandez will just be delighted to get some football.

Chicarito joined United in 2010 for €8million from Mexican side Guadalajara, which in his first couple of years under Sir Alex Ferguson was a huge success, but it all started to go wrong when David Moyes took over - as from there he was not the first-choice and was unable to get enough games under his belt during that campaign.

Hernandez chances started to lessen when Moyes took over

Hernandez didn't play much under Moyes and last season, United manager Louis van Gaal choose to let Hernandez join La Liga giants Real Madrid on loan, and from there it was clear that Hernandez didn't have a long-term future plan at the club.

This transfer has caught a few people by surprise as to how United are short on numbers up front, and van Gaal said Hernandez was going to be given a chance this season, but it's obvious that the Mexican forward joins pastures new for regular football.

Leverkusen won the race for hernandez ahead of other clubs

There were many clubs wanting to sign Hernandez this summer including Premier League side West Ham, but moving to Bayer Leverkusen is a very good move for him as it will enable him to play in the UEFA Champions League, which is great for any player.

Hernandez needs game time and he became a very frustrated figure sitting on the sidelines, so for the best of the player it's good that he is moving on to get the amount of games that he requires in order to make sure that he gets called up to the Mexican national side and continue his own personal development.
