Manchester United winger Ashley Young says that goalkeeper David De Gea has always been professional despite links to Real Madrid.

Young says De Gea will remain professional despite failed Madrid move

Young, speaking to Sky Sports, says that "David is a professional and always has been" even with it looking like he would leave United all summer.

On deadline day, De Gea signed for Real Madrid only for paperwork issues to mean the deal fell through. However, Young says that De Gea "always will be" professional when playing for United and he doesn't "want to add to the speculation."

De Gea is currently away on international duty with Spain, having been in Madrid waiting for the deal to go through, but when he returns to United, may get his first game of the season against Liverpool in the North-West derby.

United squad disappointed after Swansea loss

United went into the international break having lost 2-1 to Swansea City in a disappointing performance. Young says that "after the last game" the United squad are "a little bit disappointed, especially going into the international break" which means United now have "to wait ten days to get yourself prepared for the next game."

However, United have "made a good start" to the season, winning four of their first six games and conceding just three goals. Young sys United "have got another massive game after the break" against Liverpool which is what they have to look to now.

Young excited for Martial signing

United signed AS Monaco striker Anthony Martial for £36million on deadline day in a surprise move, Young says "obviously we've not really seen too much of him from the French league" but Martial is "a good prospect, a young boy, a big talent to add to the squad here which is fantastic."

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League after six games but Young says that United "want to challenge for the title, for cups, for everything" the club are in.
