Javier Hernandez has sent out a message to Manchester United, their staff and their fans following his move to German side Bayer Leverkusen expressing his appreciation about the four years of support he received.

Former-Manchester United striker Chicarito has recently left the Reds for Bayer Leverkusen for a fee believed to be around £12 million. The player has expressed that there are no bad feelings between him and the club.

Hernandez left the club to feel happy again.

The Mexican international spent the entirety of last season on loan to Real Madrid and he has admitted that he left the club because he wanted to be happy again.

Hernandez scored a total of nine goals at Madrid; his most memorable goal for the loaned club was the winner against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final. He was reportedly happy to come back to Manchester but it seems that United manager Louis van Gaal wasn’t as impressed as some as he still fell short of playing in the starting line up for United.

The last time he featured in a starting line up for United was over a year ago but he has watched multiple games since then from the bench.

The last time he was allowed game time for United was against Club Brugge in the Champions League and it seemed as if his career at Old Trafford was going downhill from there. In the game, even gilt-edged chances weren’t even falling for him as he was unable to place the ball into the back of the net.

Louis van Gaal allowed the striker to leave the club.

After the last game against Swansea, the manager told the forward that he has allowed him to leave the club. Hernandez scored a total of 60 goals for Manchester united in the four years he was there and started a total of 85 games.

Van Gaal telling him to leave had an instant impact as Bayer Leverkusen came in with a bid and was almost instantly accepted. Manchester United announced that the striker would be leaving the club on the 31st August.

Bayer 04 revealed the signing of Hernandez on Tuesday at their press conference and the player had this to say. 'I want to go back to feeling important and happy. I want to find happiness.

'I want to help and achieve important things. I have felt very loved. I hope to accomplish things in my head and in my heart.'

After the unveiling, the 27-year-old has sent out a message over his social media expressing his gratitude to Manchester United and thanked them for the past four years of his career. He also thanked the staff at the club and all of their fans.

His message reads: ‘I want to thank Sir Alex Ferguson & Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with; but specially I want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I’ve had this past 4 years and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter!’

In his first year at Leverkusen, he will face up against Group E in the Champions League and will come up against Barcelona, Roma and BATE Borisov.
