Louis van Gaal praised Anthony Martial in his pre match press conference for the way that the young Frenchman has handled his big money move to Manchester United in the summer, and believes by living in a hotel so far it is helping the youngster settle.

Martial goes into the game this weekend having scored four goals in four games for United, and if he scores against Sunderland this weekend it will mean he is the first United player ever to score in his first three Premier League matches, and Van Gaal is happy for him.

Van Gaal says Martial is adapting well

Van Gaal said that Martial "still lives in a hotel, and it's his first phase of adaption" which is what is needed after moving to a new club and Martial "comes in to do his training session, eat with the players and prepare for matches" and by doing this Van Gaal feels it is helping him.

Van Gaal said by living in a hotel it's good for Martial as "It's a protected area, and the big step will come when he lives with his wife in a new house and a new environment" which is important as it will keep him out of the limelight and in protection of any burglary attempts.

Van Gaal says Wilson will not be going out on loan

Van Gaal also confirmed at his pre match press conference that James Wilson will not be going out on loan, as he now needs Wilson to stay and be cover as United are lacking in the striker department and will look at the situation in more detail come December time to see how everything is.

Van Gaal said that Wilson won't be going on loan yet as "the situation where we are in the moment, we have three injured players, and only Rooney and Martial as strikers" so Wilson is needed in case anything goes wrong with the other strikers who are currently fit.

Van Gaal continued to say that "Wilson is he natural successor to Martial" but the thing is "Wilson needs to be playing, but I think United's interest is greater than the individuals" and for the mean time Wilson will most likely have to wait to get games for the first team.

Van Gaal gives his backing to his friend Dick Advocaat

Van Gaal this weekend will reunited with his close friend Dick Advocaat when Manchester United take on Sunderland at Old Trafford, and Van Gaal is feeling a lot of sympathy for his friend because of Sunderland's predicament at the minute.

"I feel for Dick as a human being" Van Gaal said as "he is a friend and we played together at Sparta Rotterdam" as both managers have never fallen out over the years and Van Gaal hopes "Sunderland win every game other than those against United" which is Van Gaal giving his backing to his friend.

Van Gaal also confirmed at his press conference that Marcos Rojo, Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw remain the only players that are currently unavailable for him to chose from for the game this weekend.
