Manchester United got blown away by Arsenal in the first twenty minutes losing the game 3-0 with a brace of goals from Alexis Sanchez and a goal from Mesut Ozil, but how did the United players fair with their performances saying they got battered in a terrible performance?

David de Gea (5/10)

David de Gea had very little to do apart from pick the ball out of the net three times in the first twenty minutes. None of the goals were De Gea's fault as they were unstoppable to save which was a pity. De Gea dealt with anything else that did happen well and just couldn't stop his team playing badly.

Darmian (3/10)

Matteo Darmian got the run around from Sanchez in the first half and was taken off before the score got any worse. Darmian has now struggled in United's last two away Premier League games and hopefully it is just a rough patch and he will come through it. Darmian will not want to face Sanchez anytime soon.

Smalling (6/10)

Chris Smalling was one of United's better performers again as he was commanding and tried his best to stop the onslaught that was ongoing on United's goal. When Smalling comes up against an opposition player these days he just brushes them off and comes away with the ball, but overall another good performance from Smalling.

Blind (5/10)

Daley Blind struggled with Theo Walcott's pace during the game which gave him too much pace to get in behind, especially in the first half. Blind as the game went on improved and started to stop Arsenal from getting the space but by that time it was too late to do anything about the result.

Young (4/10)

Ashley Young is not a natural full back and he was exposed badly in the first twenty minutes of the game and just didn't have a clue what to do about it. Young should not be playing at full back in the first place but because of the amount of injuries that United currently have he will have to play there which is not good going forward.

United's central midfielders struggled badly in the game

Schweinsteiger (4/10)

Bastian Schweinsteiger has been really good since he signed for United, but against Arsenal in the first half he really got the run around and left to much space behind him leading to Arsenal's goals. In the second half whenever the third midfielder was brought on Schweinsteiger improved as he had the licence to go forward. Schweinsteiger is crucial for United going forward as his experience will help the team through these touch games.

Carrick (4/10)

Michael Carrick struggled also with the pace of the Arsenal midfield in the first half and got badly exposed when Schweinsteiger left him on his own. Carrick needs to pick up his game quickly because he hasn't had the best start to the season and it's starting to lead to some United fans wanting him dropped.

Mata (5/10)

Juan Mata came into the game in fantastic form, but didn't get any chances to try and do anything for United in the match. Mata needs help and what he got at the weekend was poor and it should be better as he has proven if he can get into the game then he can have a big impact on the game.

Rooney's form shows no sign of improving

Rooney (4/10)

Wayne Rooney is at the minute in a real poor run of form and is very lucky that he has not been dropped. Rooney being the United captain should be giving it his all in a game against Arsenal, but especially in the first half he done next to nothing good and loads of fans have started to really turn on him. Louis van Gaal needs to drop him to show that he can't continue this poor run of form.

Depay struggling to adapt to the Premier League

Memphis (3/10)

Memphis Depay is really struggling to come to terms with the Premier League and it is just not good enough. Depay was brought off at half time against Arsenal and he could have no complaints as all he did was keep giving the ball away and he needs to improve drastically before fans really turn on him.

Martial (7/10)

Anthony Martial was United's best player once again but he is severely lacking the service he needs to get into the game and do what he does best. Martial you can see has the defenders worried when he got the ball, and United players should have given it to him much more in the game and not after the game was already over.

Substitution Ratings

Fellaini (6/10)

Maroaune Fellaini came on at half time for Depay and did well for the short time he was on the pitch as he made the team much more compact with the him being the third midfielder. Fellaini looked a threat from the corners United had, but that just wasn't enough.

Valencia (5/10)

Antonio Valencia came on for Darmian at half time who was having a shocker and did very well to keep Sanchez quiet for most of the second half. Valencia gets a lot of abuse from fans but he was probably the right choice to play at right back against Arsenal as he showed when he did come on.

Wilson (5/10)

James Wilson didn't have much time to do anything when he came on, but still looked a threat as he tried to have a few runs at the Arsenal defence something the rest of players were afraid to do. Wilson deserves more of a chance in the first team and the hope is he will soon enough.
