11:58 - Hello everyone I am Danial Kennedy and welcome to VAVEL's coverage of Watford - Manchester United

It has been a long while since the last time these two sides met but it is United that have an advantage over their London counterparts as they have won their last four Premier League contests and the last nine in all competitions.

The last time they met came way back in 2007 FA Cup semi-final when Kieran Richardson, Cristiano Ronaldo and a brace from Rooney gave them a 4-1 victory and sent them to Wembley.

The international break has been very cruel to Van Gaal’s side as six players will not be travelling for the Vicarage Road clash.

It was both Anthony Martial and Michael Carrick who suffered the international curse with Martial leaving Wembley on crutches after France’s defeat to England while Carrick suffered ankle ligament damage in the final minute of England’s friendly with Spain.

Captain Wayne Rooney will be unavailable through illness, Marouane Fellaini remains unfit while Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw are long-term absentees.

Watford also has injuries concerns of their own as Jose Manuel Jurado will be missing out through a hamstring injury while Sebastian Prodl will be on the sidelines after picking up a calf problem while on duty with Austria.

Despite good start to the month the pressure will continue to mount and will so for the rest of the campaign as fans will accept nothing less and a sold title charge.

A win in the early kick-off on Saturday could prove vital as it would separate them from Arsenal and Leicester City who are second and third respectively and could send them top for a brief time until Manchester City play Liverpool later in the day.

Despite a decent start to the campaign and only sitting just two points behind current leaders and rivals Manchester City Louis Van Gaal continues to be criticised.

Fans were left frustrated throughout October as the Red Devils only managed to win one their last six.

They managed to bounce back before the international break with a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League and goals from Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata gave them a convincing 2-0 win over West Brom last time out.

The Hornets showed some decent form entering the international break as they managed back-to-back victories over both Stoke City and West Ham United.

However the game before the break ended on a sour note as Jamie Vardy’s ninth consecutive Premier League goal gave Leicester City the narrow 2-1 victory.

Flores’ side haven’t suffered back-to-back defeats so far in this campaign and will be looking to avoiding it as a positive result against the Red Devils could see them creep into the top half of the table.

Since their promotion back to the top flight of English football Watford have been biding their time and taking every game as it comes and it seems to have paid off for Quique Sanchez Flores’ side.

After 12 games there is some quite significant space between them and the relegation zone as they currently occupy 11th position which for a relegation favourite is a very respectable position to be in.

Manchester United will be looking to keep the pressure on their title rivals when they take on in-form Watford on Saturday lunchtime.
