Buffonge, whose full name his Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffogne, played in the opening fixture of the under-18 season, setting up Zak Dearnley.

Buffogne had been at Fulham since 2010, having left Arsenal's youth system at the young age of 12. The attacking midfielder picked up a groin injury in late-August which put a delay on the confirmation of the deal, although the Man United coaches were certain of his talent following his first game.

Confirmation of the move came on Manchester United's Official Club Website, adding a new player profile into the under-18 section of the site, in Buffogne's name.

The club said, "DJ Buffonge has signed as a scholar for Manchester United following a successful trial."

United say the scholar deal was signed on November 13th. Buffonge will have been watching United excitedly this season with academy players like Andreas Pereira, Axel TuanzebeJesse Lingard and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson all getting chances under manager Louis van Gaal.
