Manchester United target Gareth Bale has revealed that he is happy at Real Madrid at the moment but refused to rule out a possible move away from the club - either this month, or at the end of the current campaign.

With rumours flying around about the player’s future, Manchester United have reportedly prepared a £90million bid for the Welshman.

Bale seems to be in great form at the moment, having scored a hat-trick for Madrid as they triumphed over Deportivo La Coruna 5-0 in Zinedine Zidane’s first match in charge.

"I'm happy at the moment. You can never predict what happens in the future, but I'm enjoying my football at the moment so I'll keep going. I feel good at the moment - very fit, and I'm just trying to enjoy my football."

Manchester United have been linked with the winger for a few seasons now and this season, they are trying their biggest offer to date, £90m.

A key factor to the rumours about Bale leaving Real Madrid has been the fact that he had a good relationship with the former manager, Rafa Benitez. He was sacked from Madrid a few weeks ago.

He admitted that he had a "good relationship" with Benitez, and it was "a bit disappointing" to see Rafa depart from the Bernabeú. However, he alo said that things like this happen in football, and as a professional, you have to learn to deal with it and carry on.

"There have been comments in previous interviews where I've been 'stuck on the right' and maybe didn't have that freedom, but now I'm able to come in and float around a bit as well. My main position would be on the right, obviously. I'm enjoying my football [and position] very much."

Redknapp thinks United could be title contenders

As well, Bale’s former manager from Tottenham, Harry Redknapp, has spoken to the press saying that if Manchester United and Louis van Gaal do sign Bale, they would become title contenders.

Redknapp said that Bale is "an amazing talent", and if United did sign him [this January], they could "come close to winning the title this year", because he's such a difference-maker in a team.

"Bale is a match-winner, he scores goals and can make goals. He could go and get them 16/17 goals from now until the end of the season if he went on a run, and could turn the club around. He would be an incredible signing."
