Paul Scholes after Manchester United 3-3 draw at St James Park against Newcastle United said that he felt loads better watching Louis van Gaal's side performance like a Manchester United team of old again.

Scholes laid into the United players at the weekend after a poor performance

Scholes laid into United at the weekend after the 1-0 win at Old Trafford against Sheffield United in the FA Cup saying that the players looked bored, and it just was not good enough, and things would have to quickly, and they did against Newcastle according to Scholes.

Scholes told BT Sport "it was loads better, to go and watch Manchester United, whether it's home or away, it's entertainment" as down the years that is what United have been known for, but recently under Van Gaal is just hasn't worked out, but there are now signs Van Gaal might have let his players attack more.

Scholes says he expects positive play from a Manchester United team

Scholes continued to say "I expect positive play from Manchester United all the time, whether you're home or away" as Scholes was brought up with the United way of always trying to attack, and that led to numerous trophies during his time at the club.

In recent weeks Scholes has been very vocal about his old team, but deep down he just wants to seem them get back to the top were they have been for a number of years, and he feels United play better away from home than they do at home because of the pressure of the fans at Old Trafford.

Scholes thinks it's easier for United to attack away from home

"Sometimes it's a little easier to it away from home" Scholes said, as teams will come to Old Trafford and just sit back and defend, and hit United on the break, but away from home "when a team comes out at you really has a go like Newcastle did" there's much more space to attack.

The next step for United is now to take the attacking display they produced away from home to Old Trafford, and Scholes said "now they have to try and transfer this type of attacking form to Old Trafford" and if they do things will become easier, and the fans will start to get behind the team again.
